Conclusion
With Pokemon being an immensely popular media franchise in the world, there was bound to be much to learn from it, including that of a dataset of it's Pokemon themselves. In this dataset there was much to learn from each Pokemon, such as each one's type and the benefits/flaws it provides for them, how much HP, speed, defense, or attack power they had, how their base stat total showcases their full potential, and unique abilities that each Pokemon had, both regular and Legendary. With so many variables like the ones that were just listed, there was so much to discover and many metrics that could be used to discover how each data connects with each other for all Pokemon across the first seven Generations.
A manager or high official working on any future Pokemon games can make use of this analysis to identify and visualize unique trends. Some trends that can be identified from a high official can be things like which types are most likely to have the best performance rates and which types underperform the most. Another thing that can make this analysis useful for said officials is to identify the correlation between a Pokemon's base stat total and their catch rate. Making sure that the catch rate for the more powerful Pokemon to be low and keeping it that way to make future games balanced.
Though the dataset does provide a lot of information to measure, it would have been helpful if it formatted certain ones better, as it made certain functions on Excel a bit more complicated than it needed to be. Another thing that could have been added was a column where it showcases each Pokemon's type strength and weakness. It does have the data of how strong certain type attack are against different types, but it doesn't provide that ratio to simplify certain calculations. Though this dataset is true to its original source, it is outdated since Pokemon is about to reach its 10th generation of Pokemon for the next game.
Despite the flaws of the dataset, the analysis does provide many insights that can be used for upcoming games. By understanding past data, it gives the managers of Nintendo the ability to identify patterns and learn from mistakes to make well informed decisions for the future. Giving them the chance to make the games more enjoyable and balanced for Pokemon fans, both current and new.
